Wildwood Dean's ALMOST WEEKLY REPORTS FROM RED RIVER
JULY 10, 2007
Well Lake Texoma finally made history for the fourth time. Saturday 7, 2007 at high noon she went over the spillway at 640.01. Lake Texoma continued to rise and by Monday crested at 640.10. This morning, Tuesday July 10 Lake Texoma elevation is 640.06 and falling. The total release at the dam is 29,535cfs as of 3a.m. July 10. Red River has kinda dodged the bullet in more ways than one. Lake Texoma didn't reach the levels predicted and downstream flooding allowed the flood gates to remain open. The only place on Red River with severe over the bank flooding this morning is at the DeKalb gaging station. Severe thunderstorms have brought lots of rain to the southern Oklahoma counties overnight and it remains to be seen how that will effect the discharge at the Lake Texoma dam. UPDATE 10:05 a.m. 7-10-07: The overnight rains are reflecting in the lake level reports now. The current lake level is 640.35 and rising! At the moment I have no new pictures of Red River but plan to spend the day there tomorrow and will post them into this report then. See you on the Red ... wwdean
