Deer Hunter's Medicine
If you have read "Submissive Hunting Techniques" then you know I have many weapons that I use while pursuing the Whitetail deer. Juniper berries are just one of my deer hunting secrets.
The weather was nasty and I had developed a nasty cough. I took cough drops to my stand in an effort to suppress the tickle throat and had just used the last one. I was set up under a large cedar tree and the tickle was returning to my throat. Just at arm's reach hung a cluster of grayish-blue juniper berries. I remembered the taste they had; sort of like Gin.
I picked a berry and popped it into my mouth then bit down into it to release the flavor. The tickling urge to cough left me immediately! Within the hour I killed the largest buck of my deer hunting career ... up to that time.
When deer season opens I always pick a few cedar berries and put them in a little bottle. They go with me on every hunt. They work amazingly fast and last a long time. In addition to suppressing the cough they camouflage my bad breath.
Once you use them you will never be caught without them.
     I know I wont!
