I grew up helping kill hogs, making sausage and eating the wild game and plants offered by Nature. Dad talked to the animals and plants; the river and the land just like it was you or me. I never asked why. It was not until later years that I read the scripture above and shivered! I learned how to identify many of the trees and plants of northeast Texas. Dad taught me their "Duty in life." I have added several plants to Dads' list and came up with some new uses for his old standbys.
