OF TIME AND THE RIVER Texas Country Reporter came to my shop back in 1986 and filmed a story about Red River and me ... about dogwood hoop furniture and my lifestyle. Well just the other day they caught up with me again, down on Red River, and this time they filmed a story about Red River, me and Treasure River, my newly published book.
The story is called "Of Time and the River" and it was recently voted one of the all time best Texas Country Reporter segments by viewers.
Phillips Productions has granted me permisson to use "Of time and the River" in programs and I have built a very good program around the segment.
This is a perfect program for Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, and luncheon meetings. The program is on PowerPoint and is adaptable to screen or TV. I have a theater sound system to enhance the presentation.
SKILLS OF THE RIVERMEN: Ways and Means of a Market Fisherman. This is the program I presented to the Texas Folklore Society meeting in Nacogdoches, April, 2009. It is a reading that records the history of the Fyke net and of river boats and ends with, a day in the life of a market fisherman. It is a PowerPoint presentation that will compliment the program with pictures and drawings.
