Possum 'n' Sweet 'Taters
WARNING: Never eat a 'possum you didn't harvest out of a persimmon tree. I still remember Dad telling Mom "A 'Possum's nature is, whatever he's eating on he will eat until it's all gone. I got this possum out of a persimmon tree, he ain't been eatin' on no dead cow."

Squirrel Pie
I have heard many country folks say they had rather have gravy made with the dregs from fried squirrel than almost any other food in the world. Well, now you can have your squirrel gravy in a pie. I have tried it with chicken and other game meat; but listen ... chicken ain't squirrel! There ain't anything as good as squirrel for this scrumptious dish.

Floor Wax
I can't tell you how hot "smoking hot" is; I can tell you how Mother decided on that term. When blue smoke curled out of the little bucket it was hot enough. My brother Delton and I loved floor waxing time. After Mother applied the wax to our pine wood floors she would lay an old cotton sack on the floor and tell us "drag each other around until the floors shine."
