While I was taking care of my family I started writing Treasure River and River of Dreams. Getting them published was farther from my mind than it is to the moon. It wasn't until after I started writing Backyard Discovdries, a weekly column for North Texas eNews, that I got interested in pursuing publishing my books. For the next 20 weeks Backyard Discoveries followed me down Red River on a 14-day, 400-mile journey, sub-titled Seeing Red. I gained experience writing and really became serious about my new-found passion. Following Seeing Red I wrote a weekly series about the things I learned regarding deer behavior while gathering material for my furniture building. The name of it was Submissive Hunting Techniques. Treasure River was published in 2006, and River of Dreams followed in 2008. Presently I am working on SKILLS OF THE RIVERMEN: Ways and Means of Market Fishermen to preserving the Arts and Crafts, and life skills of the river fishermen during and after the Great Depression.
